How to Block a person on Gmail

Many people asked me the way to block a person on Gmail and stop receiving emails of that person. In Facebook, there is a simple way to block a person. But Gmail do not provide any direct block link for any contact. This is a much needed feature in Gmail.

If someone is creating problem and sending some irritating and abusive emails to you, you can simply block that person by Gmail Filters. Create a filter and Gmail will filter his emails and you will not get any email in your inbox.

Follow these steps.
  1. Login to your Gmail account.
  2. Now click on gear icon at th top right corner of the page.
  3. Now click on settings. It will open Gmail settings.
  4. Now go to Filters tab.
  5. Click on "Create a new filter"
  6. In the new popup menu, enter the email of the person you want to block on the From field.
  7. Now click on "Create filter with this search"
  8. Now you will see a new window with some options.
  9. Select "Delete it" and "Skip the Inbox (Archive it) " then Click on Create Filter.
  10. Now go to your inbox and forget that person.

Gmail will filter and delete all the emails of that person and you will never see any emails by the person in your inbox.
